This Mother’s Day join Oil Change International and the 1Sky campaign to take action on behalf of your children and all children. In connection with efforts 1Sky is coordinating nationally, Oil Change is asking you to trace the hands of your child or children onto a letter to send to your members of Congress. If you don’t have a child, trace your own hand, and then forward this on to any parents you know!
By sending your elected officials these tracings along with the demand that they stop taking oil money and support the 1Sky coalition’s solutions to the climate crisis, we hope leaders will make the connection between our children’s future and the actions they must support for them.
1. Download the action page and print 3 copies (for your two Senators and one Representative)
2. Find the names of your members of Congress, and how much oil money they take.
3. Trace your or your child’s hands onto letters for your two Senators and one Representative, sign and print your name and address, and then send them to us at:
Oil Change International, 2228 12th Place NW, Washington DC 20009
Let’s demand strong action for the sake of our children and all children!

The 1Sky Platform
- MOBILIZE AMERICA FOR SOLUTIONS: Create 5 million new jobs with a sweeping national mobilization for climate solutions, energy independence, and investment in a new energy economy. Conserve 20% of our energy by 2015. Invest in efficiency and a Clean Energy Corps, and challenge all sectors of society to save energy immediately.
- SECURE OUR FUTURE: Do what science says is necessary: reduce global warming pollution at least 25% below 1990 levels by 2020. Get on a realistic path to the reductions needed to prevent dangerous climate disruption: at least 80% below 1990 levels by 2050. Design our climate policy to support and reward accelerated public and private investment in solutions.
- TRANSFORM OUR ENERGY PRIORITIES: End development of new coal plants that emit global warming pollution. Pivot boldly away from fossil fuel dependence, and toward a clean energy future with strong standards and incentives for energy efficiency and renewable energy.
