Scientists at the UN Climate conference in Bangkok have agreed on a report has agreed that fighting climate change is affordable with the technology readily available to slow the growth in greenhouse gas emissions and stave off climate chaos.

Reuters are reporting that a senior delegate has confirmed the report was finished this morning. “It’s done,” he said. After five days of intense wrangling about how much the battle against climate change would cost the talks were finally concluded in the early hours.

The report says that current policies are inadequate to address climate change. “With current climate-change-mitigation policies and related sustainable-development practices, global greenhouse gas emissions will continue to grow over the next few decades,” it says.
